Repairing a Coomber Language Training Cassette Recorder
This unusual cassette recorder is designed for use in education, primrily language training. It has a reasonable quality mechanism, a good amplifier with six mono headphone outputs. It has a problem in that a cassette cannot be inserted but this turns out to be a fault where the deck can lock up if the power is lost. There is a warning about this inside the cassette compartment and informatin on how to reset it. However, a previous owner had tried to force a cassette into the mechanism which had bent the plate holding the record/reply head and jamming the mechanism. A little force to bend the plate back into position, a clean and service restored full functionality.
