I hate seeing equipment thrown on the scrapheap and worse still, put into landfill. Where possible I repair stuff so it can be used as originally, but sometimes, it's original use is no longer viable, for example, analogue TVs. So if they can be recycled for use as a computer or CCTV monitor, then I'll try and achieve that goal. 

Recycling also means taking equimpment apart and retrieving components within them to be used elsewhere. With the growth of Vaping, many people often throw their old vaping devices out - sometimes just discarding them in the street - and where I find them, I dismantle them and recover the batteries in them which are mainly of the rechargeable type, so I can use them in other projects, like torches (flashlights) and lanterns, radios and other devices like power packs.
